This work is the first of a series to do with colour mixing. It was built to explore the interaction between red and green light. |
||
All the surfaces in this work are white. The colour comes entirely from red and green gels positioned in front of the light sources. The aim was to see how these two primary colours related to one another and to create shadows of different colour and intensity. However the light sources are not sharply focused and therefore there are no clear edged shadows. What emerges instead is the simple intensity of colour playing on the white surfaces and the glow of muted colour glimpsed through the openings in the front of each cube. These relate to obscured windows in the sides of the cubes which orient them to one or other of the coloured lights. | ![]() |
