This is one of four pieces built to hang on the wall or free stand in a perspex box. This one uses GU10 LED spot light bulbs which provide a focused beam of light suited to the needs of the work. The bulbs are contained in the lower layer and the light is transmitted to the front layer by mirrors.

This piece is an experiment in getting different coloured lights to crossover within a structured grid. From left and right yellow light spills down horizontal corridors, whilst red light passes up and down the verticals.   General View

You can see here the source of the yellow light (small LED spot lights) which shine across the piece illuminating the edges of the cubes that from the grid.   Angle View

Each cube is hollow and so you can see down into them and this picks up light from the layer below. The light shines through translucent screens made of tissue paper.   Close Up

The view from above enables you to see the way the cubes define the corridors that constrain the passage of the light.   View From Above

The work is made of foam card covered with tissue paper and situated within a perspex box. It is lit by self adhesive LED strips. Dimensions: 400mm x 400mm x 100mm.
