This is one of four pieces built to hang on the wall or free stand in a perspex box. They use self adhesive LED strips which can be powered by a transformer or a battery pack. The advantage of the batteries is that you can get away from having a mains lead; the down-side is that the batteries need recharging.

This piece is made up of layers. There is a front grid and then a space which is lit red and yellow that then frames a second layer lit blue and green. The idea is simple but the colour combinations are very pleasing.   General View

You can see something of the 3D quality of the work here. The patterned front screen stands forward of the red/yellow surface, which in turn is pierced so that you can see through to the blue/green interior.   Angle Close Up

It is difficult to accurately photograph projected colour. The blue/green surface is essentially white and the colours combine on it in ways that are more subtle than the camera allows.   Centre

This is one of the eight side sections, each with nine squares some of which are covered with textured tissue paper. Sometimes you are seeing the colour reflected from the back board and at others transmitted through the tissue.   Close Up Of Edge

The work is made of foam card covered with tissue paper and situated within a perspex box. It is lit by self adhesive LED strips. Dimensions: 400mm x 400mm x 100mm.
